We work for a review of the current system that the South African government has put in place to ensure that communities and municipalities that are host areas and labour sending areas benefit directly from the mining operations.  There is a need for a system that is inclusive, fair and credible to mine affected communities, with increased capacity to reduce conflicts and injustice around extractives.  We also work for greater involvement of communities in environmental governance around extractives.
